Competition Season Commences!
The June long weekend signaled the commencement of competition season for our Junior WAG and MAG Competitive athletes.
WAG (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics)
The HGA WAG Level 3-5 Practice Competition and Level 1-2 Invitational kick started the season in a big way, setting the scene for our WAG competitive athletes in their very first competition of the year. Our athletes had the opportunity to perform their routines in front of judges, some for the very first time and others at a brand-new level.
The day started with our Level 3–5 WAG athletes, who demonstrated incredible sportsmanship, supporting one another throughout the competition. They showcased many impressive skills and achieved some fantastic results.
The afternoon session featured our Level 1 and 2 WAG athletes, along with athletes from other clubs who were invited to participate. For many, this was their first-ever gymnastics competition, and they all did a terrific job performing in front of friends and family.
Congratulations to all of our amazing athletes on a fantastic competition. We are extremely proud of your efforts, achievements, and the hard work you have put into your training. Keep working hard, and we can’t wait to see what your next competition brings!

MAG (Men’s Artistic Gymnastics)
Following up this past weekend, our Junior MAG athletes travelled up to Launceston to compete for the first time at the new recreation centre in Mowbray – PCYC North’s new home.
All our MAG athletes were competing for the first time at a new level, with some significant increase in the requirements and the challenge making this first competition a huge step up from their last competition. Knowing this, the athletes went into competition with their own personal goals for the event, and smashed it!
