Junior Competition Season Wrap Up

Earlier in the year, our MAG athletes were the first to hit the floor, competing in Launceston on the 22nd June. We had boys competing at Levels 1, 2, and 3 at this event, and for some, it was their first time on the competition floor. Our boys started the season strongly, showcasing their routines and skills across all six of their apparatus.

On the 3rd August, we had our WAG competitive athletes competing at Kingborough for their first Gymnastics Tasmania competition of the year. This competition was all about team spirit and our WAG Level 3-5 gymnasts showcased chants and lots of cheering – alongside commencing the competition season with strength and style.

On the 10th August, we had our MAG boys compete in their second event, this time at Kingborough. With the nerves of their first competition out of the way, we saw an increase in confidence and performance throughout the team. For our Level 1s and 2s, it was their final competition for the year. We hope they enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to see how next year goes!

Then, on the 23rd and 24th August, our WAG athletes traveled up to Devonport to compete in another team competition. This competition was split into divisions based on scores from the previous competition, and both our Level 4 teams qualified for Division A – and awesome achievement by White Squad in their first Level 4 competition. Our Level 3s qualified for Division B, and Level 5s for Division A. For our Level 3s, it was their first time competing at Devonport, which meant experiencing the road trip aspect of competitive gymnastics. Thank you to the parents for making the long drive up and back. We definitely appreciate it!

This competition season culminated for our athletes with Junior State Championships on the 6th and 7th September. Our MAG Level 3s and our WAG Level 3-5s excelled in showcasing their routines for the final time this year. Each gymnast represented our club with pride, showing not only skill but also fantastic encouragement and support for one another. We couldn’t be more proud of your achievements - your effort, dedication, and team spirit don’t go unnoticed!

A huge thank you to our coaches, Claire, Kobi, Sam, JJ, Kara, Eleanor, and Hayley for their tireless support, guidance, and encouragement. Also, to our Judges Sam, Hayley, Kara, Hannah, Georgia-Alice, Nathaniel, and Eleanor, whose time and effort are always appreciated. We couldn’t do this without you!
